Whitby Goths
Went to a Goth Weekend in Whitby but before I went I thought I should find out a bit about them..
Goth is a subculture that began in the UK during the early 1980s. It was developed by the fans of Gothic Rock an offshoot of the post punk music genre.
The Goth subculture has survived much longer than other of the same era and has continually spread to diversify and spread throughout the world.
The music preferred by Goths include a number of Styles such as Gothic Rock , death rock, horror punk. Styles of dress within the sub culture draw on punk, new wave, new Romantic Fashion. It also draws on fashion from earlier periods such as Edwardian,, Victorian, and Belle Epoqueror. The style most often includes dark or black attire, black make up and black hair.
Put simply a Goth is someone who finds beauty in things considered dark and mysterious. That doesn't mean Goths are evil, it just means they have a different perspective to many.
Goths love to laugh but there humour is often black comedy.
Goths are usually intelligent, romantic and artistic
